Hi, I’m Kalin, founder of The Recycling Project.
Trash Truths & Dump Myths is a modular waste literacy education program designed for schools, communities, and partner organizations. It clarifies how waste systems actually work, why common “bin rules” break down in real life, and how education can reduce confusion, guilt, and burnout by replacing them with systems understanding and practical agency.
Designed for Grade 8+, post-secondary, and adult learners, plus one professional development workshop for elementary educators.
Pilot partners receive access + updates, and help shape the program’s institutional rollout.

“Kalin has developed some really great educational content around recycling and waste reduction, that is valuable to students at many levels. From kids, to teens to adults, there is something here for everyone. Very comprehensive; highlighting the truth about recycling and waste in our societies, what can be done better, and how individuals and groups can make a difference. Well designed curriculum and modules that can be used in a variety of educational settings, filled with tons of information, fun activities and beautiful artwork to boot!”
